Children and Adult Library Events
We had fun at the library this week at two different garden week events. On Wednesday, May 1, garden club members and Susan Defant, children’s librarian, read books to the art class children and their parent. The children were given a pinwheel for their garden to decorate after the book reading. Sharron Oakes, Norma Smith, Rachel Mittle, and Jan Showalter all mingled and made sure everyone had what they needed. Parents , children , and garden club members all had a great time .
Many garden club members and some library partrons came to the library on Thursday, May 2, to hear Will Stone speak on plants and fertilizer. Will updated us on his plans for his two acre plot of land. He also gave a lot of insight into composting, composition of fertilizer, and foraging your yard for plants to eat. He was informative and always makes a good presentation. Jo Ann Averill -Snell, adult librarian, planned a garden themed adult craft project for the evening of May 6 .
Thank you to all that participated.
