Garden Club District VIII Meeting

Eight Temple Terrace Garden Club members attended the District VIII Fall meeting at Tampa Garden Club. The meeting was originally scheduled for October 16, but hurricane Milton came through, and it was rescheduled for November 19th. It was a good meeting. The guest speaker was Tom Ries of ECOsphere Restoration Institute, Inc. He is working with the Tampa Garden Club and the City of Tampa to restore the natural spring back to its original status. The Spring is located in the Fred Ball park next to the Tampa Garden Club, restoring this spring is the focus of their club. The original spring was called Palmaceia Springs. Tom discussed the process and explained why it need to be brought back to life. The meeting was full of information that we took note of, Temple Terrace Garden Club will be hosting the District VIII Fall meeting in October 2025. The food was enjoyable and tasty, and the dessert was a lovely blue color to honor the Springs. There were nine baskets to have for the drawing, one from each of the nine circles within the club. The Temple Terrace Garden Club members enjoyed a nice day by the bay.
