Smokey the Bear and Woodsy Owl Contest 2024
This is a national poster contest supported by The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of basic fire safety through original drawings of Smokey Bear. Due to Smokey’s 80th birthday celebration this year’s contest featured only Smokey Bear.
The National grand prize winner will be honored with a recognition ceremony in Washington D.C., a round trip, 4-day, 3-night stay -including mileage and accommodations for four will be provided. The recognition ceremony is typically held late in the summer. The National Garden Clubs, Inc will award a $50 check to each first-place national winner.
Thank you to the Art Teachers; Robin Fink, Temple Terrace Elementary, Carolyn Kriete, Lewis Elementary and Stephanie Hemdt, Riverhills Elementary who made the contest a success for their students. Good luck to our local first place winners who will continue to be judged at the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs state level.
YOU ARE ALL WINNERS!
